Rock River Raptors

The Rock River Raptors' 2009 season in the Continental Indoor Football League begins at home on March 7 with a game against the Wisconsin Wolfpack.

The 2009 CIFL will consist of eight teams, from Wisconsin to West Virginia, and will be separated into two (2) divisions with four (4) teams in each division. The Western Division will include the Rock River Raptors, Chicago Slaughter, Milwaukee Bonecrushers, and the Wisconsin Wolfpack. The Eastern Division will be made up of the Fort Wayne Freedom, Marion Mayhem, Wheeling Wildcats, and an expansion team located in Huntington, WV.

The Raptors regular season will consist of a 12-game schedule as follows:

The top two (2) teams from each division will play for the division championship with the winners from each game meeting for the CIFL Championship.

Come to the MetroCentre to see 60 minutes of nonstop football action.  Seven players per team play on a field 50 yards long by 25 yards wide for four 15-minute action-packed quarters.  In the Continental Indoor Football League six points are awarded for a touchdown, one point for a PAT kick, two points for a run or pass conversion, two points for a defensive conversion following a touchdown, three points for a field goal by placement or four points for a drop, and two points for a safety.
